Why Vinehop?

I lived it, I was looking for more than just another winery tour.

Hi I’m Lisa, founder and creator of VineHop Festival.

I’m a Mount Eliza local, business owner, event professional, mum of two, a craft beer lover, chardonnay drinker, organiser, gardener, socialiser, festival goer!

I created VineHop after my first was born, I needed a day off mumming, and I wanted other parents to do this too, guilt free! After 20 years of running other events and festivals, it felt like the right time to create my own unique festival with all of the things that I love.

VineHop is a day for reconnecting with friends, letting your hair down, drinking like you don’t have kids, dancing like nobody’s watching and having fun!

It’s not just all about letting loose though, I am also passionate about supporting the local craft drinks industry, local musicians, tourism business and the local economy.

I have always loved a good Melbourne music festival, although these days trekking into the city feels like a bit of an effort. Don’t get me wrong, it’s totally worth it for the right lineup!!

That being said, one of the most annoying things about a good gig is the rubbish selection of drinks on offer! Generic beers, crappy wines, and all totally overpriced.

I wanted to change that with VineHop, making sure the drinks were the headliner, supported by the music. I wanted to make sure the event was easy to get to, and most importantly I wanted to make it daytime, so that you could drink your little heart out (in a responsible way) and still be functioning the next day.

Lastly, I wanted it to be more than a regular winery tour, I wanted it to be a mecca for craft beer drinkers and boutique wine lovers alike. And a place for everyone in between. A place where everyone felt welcome and had fun.

Because everyone is welcome at Vinehop, we don’t turn away large groups, we love them! We don’t do the boring old wine tour, “time’s up, move on” – we do the “play the day your way, taste what you want and take your time doing it!” Given I’m a craft beer lover – there is plenty of variety for you to choose from.

Naturally, Vinehop has become the ultimate destination for an end of year party, hens do, bucks or even your workplace Christmas event.

All you need to do is organise your crew, grab your tickets and you’ll be taken care of!

So, if you’re wanting so much more than a winery tour, wanting a better selection of drinks than a generic Melbourne music festival, and wanting more fun than a Melbourne wine festival,  YOU ARE OUR PEOPLE!
